Apparat: The State of Oscillation

This album, simply put, seduces you into quiet submission. It strokes your hair while you slip into a comatose sleep and is there to prolong your dreams as you wake. The songs themselves are quite righteous in nature, gently tugging at deep thoughts and seeping into your electronic faith, yet not too holy to aim for the center of the pop culture ring.

Sascha Ring has developed a seamless blending of notes while designing sounds that have only ever before been captured in the depths of seas. He pushes for quality with each manifested riff and is flexible, considering no sound a mistake. Ring’s vocals seem ominous and barely recognizable, nearly wounded in their incipient form. “The guy can chew up drums into alien machines, stretch strings out into hazy pillows, and stitch the resulting parts together in space like a dream; it’s made him a hero to that cognoscenti that’s less interested in the actual dance floor and more interested in the sophistication of the techniques behind it.” -

The elegiac music that is Apparat is not apparent live however - Apparat is decidedly rave music live. The mellow rhythms that listeners have grown accustomed to can only be found when Apparat Band makes an appearance, which is becoming more frequent in nature. Chances are good that if you do reside anywhere but Europe, you will not catch a show at all. What you will catch is a healthy dose of Ring’s incisive nature on each and every album he creates.
